Dr. S. Sarangapani stands out as a prominent figure in the modern Ayurvedic medical landscape of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. His illustrious career commenced with a strong academic foundation, having graduated as the top student from Kakatiya University and earning the distinction of being the first Gold Medalist in 1980.
He completed his postgraduate studies in surgical specialties in Ayurveda as part of the inaugural batch at Osmania University in 1986. With an impressive 28-year tenure in government service, he held various positions, culminating in his role as Principal of the Government Ayurvedic College in Hyderabad.
Dr. S. Sarangapani served on the board of studies for both Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi and NTR University of Health Sciences in Vijayawada. His unwavering dedication to the field and exceptional academic contributions led to his appointment as a Member and Vice Chairman of the Academic Committee of the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, in New Delhi.
He possesses extensive experience in managing a range of chronic and complex health conditions, with particular expertise in treating fistula in ano through Kshyarasutra therapy, spine and joint disorders (arthritis) via Panchakarma therapy, and chronic wounds, ulcers, and skin diseases using leech therapy. In recognition of his innovative and minimally invasive parasurgical techniques, he received the ‘Excellence in Ayurvedic Anorectal Surgery’ award at the International Indo-Global Summit in 2014.
Dr. S. Sarangapani has successfully treated over 3,000 fistula patients from various regions, including international cases from the USA, UK, and Canada. His proficiency in handling complicated and recurrent fistula cases has led many esteemed modern surgeons from corporate hospitals to refer patients with anorectal issues to him. He operates a well-equipped 20-bedded hospital that offers both modern and Ayurvedic treatments, including physiotherapy. Known for his approachable demeanor, dedication, and success in his field, he is a highly regarded Ayurvedic practitioner recognized by both state and central authorities.
