Dr. Anil Sharma made the move to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi from the UK back in 1994. He played a key role in establishing the Department of Minimal Access Surgery when it was first founded in 1996.

Dr. Anil Sharma has a particular focus on the surgical treatment of Abdominal wall hernias, an area in which he has organized numerous operative workshops, delivered lectures worldwide, and contributed to various chapters in International publications.

He is a dedicated academic and accomplished writer, having authored several groundbreaking scientific articles in International publications.

Dr. Anil Sharma developed the Basic Medical Writing Course for Surgeons, a voluntary program aimed at enhancing Surgeons’ skills in Medical writing and presentation.

In his role as President of the Asia Pacific Hernia Society, he initiated and developed Hernia Essentials, a comprehensive Hernia training Course that aligns with International guidelines on hernia management.
