Dr. Abhijit Whatkar is a distinguished Laparoscopic and General Surgeon as well as a Gastroenterologist. He holds an M.B.B.S and a D.N.B in General Surgery, along with FMAS and DMAS qualifications in Minimal Access Surgery, and FCPS in General Surgery.
Additionally, he has earned the F.I.A.G.E.S. credential in Gastrointestinal Surgery and a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery from IAGES. Dr. Whatkar has been recognized with three gold medals during his postgraduate studies. He is proficient in laparoscopic procedures and endoscopies and has managed a 150-bed burns unit.
His expertise also extends to trauma surgeries. He is a member of the Maharashtra Medical Council, the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), and the World Laparoscopy Institute. Currently, he serves as a Senior Consultant at Noble Hospital in Hadapsar and is affiliated with Ruby Hall Clinic and several other institutions as a Panel Consultant in Surgery.
Dr. Abhijit Whatkar has published numerous case reports in both Indian and international journals. Notably, he is the 29th surgeon worldwide to successfully treat a rare form of intestinal cancer. As an educator, he has garnered a significant following among MS and DNB students.
Dr. Abhijit Whatkar has collaborated with many esteemed professionals globally and possesses a comprehensive skill set in surgery. In the contemporary landscape of laparoscopic surgery, he excels, particularly in hernia procedures, including TAPP, TEP, IPOM, and TAR techniques, utilizing various mesh types for inguinal, femoral, umbilical, hiatus, and incisional hernias.
